Cool, so I'm on a steady program of updating this thing. Wahoo, cause I just know you're dying to hear about my life. What an exciting life it is indeed. Today I woke to a groggy almost drunken stupor around noon. I had intended to wake earlier, say around ten o'clock but that didn't pan out like I'd thought it would. I had some sort of plan for the day and I needed to go downtown.
I left around 1:04pm to go to Art Media to pick up some much needed art supplies. I found it relatively OK. I had to park in the Red Light parking lot next to Powell's to avoid paying for parking, which sucks in Portland a whole lot. I decided to venture into Powell's as the last time I'd officially been there had been for an Augusten Burrough's book-signing two summers previous. You can definitely loose your bearings walking into Powell's. It is staggering how gigantic that place is. Luckily, I knew what I was after. I was looking for "Through Painted Deserts", the only Donald Miller book I haven't read. I randomly got on the elevator and found myself on the second floor and I found the book in no more than a minute. It was quite surprising.
So after my Powell's excursion, I made my way six blocks away to Art Media on Yamhill. The weather wasn't too great today but it's Portland, so I wasn't expecting much. I was on a hunt for some aquabord (this really amazing watercolor clayboard that I'd worked with for a mixed media project this month). I inquired about a job but was sadly shot down, lame. This is certainly boring, no doubt. I got what I was looking for. I dropped my supplies of in my car at Red Light, then trekked to Peet's for a chai latte and cracked open "Through Painted Deserts" and spent roughly half-an-hour reading the first chapter and relaxing. I think today was a good day. I got shit done and that's all I can ask for.
I should start calling my blog the 2:30am blog cause that seems to be the time I start writing these things. Haha. I love this more than facebook. Cool, well I hope somebody is reading this. I'm going to try and add more stuff to make this at least worthwhile. I apologize now because I'm still getting acquainted with blogging. It's fun. I'll keep it up if I can. Alright, peace folks. Oh and I'll add this to the end of each post.
