two days in a row, wow.

Cool, so I'm on a steady program of updating this thing. Wahoo, cause I just know you're dying to hear about my life. What an exciting life it is indeed. Today I woke to a groggy almost drunken stupor around noon. I had intended to wake earlier, say around ten o'clock but that didn't pan out like I'd thought it would. I had some sort of plan for the day and I needed to go downtown.

I left around 1:04pm to go to Art Media to pick up some much needed art supplies. I found it relatively OK. I had to park in the Red Light parking lot next to Powell's to avoid paying for parking, which sucks in Portland a whole lot. I decided to venture into Powell's as the last time I'd officially been there had been for an Augusten Burrough's book-signing two summers previous. You can definitely loose your bearings walking into Powell's. It is staggering how gigantic that place is. Luckily, I knew what I was after. I was looking for "Through Painted Deserts", the only Donald Miller book I haven't read. I randomly got on the elevator and found myself on the second floor and I found the book in no more than a minute. It was quite surprising.

So after my Powell's excursion, I made my way six blocks away to Art Media on Yamhill. The weather wasn't too great today but it's Portland, so I wasn't expecting much. I was on a hunt for some aquabord (this really amazing watercolor clayboard that I'd worked with for a mixed media project this month). I inquired about a job but was sadly shot down, lame. This is certainly boring, no doubt. I got what I was looking for. I dropped my supplies of in my car at Red Light, then trekked to Peet's for a chai latte and cracked open "Through Painted Deserts" and spent roughly half-an-hour reading the first chapter and relaxing. I think today was a good day. I got shit done and that's all I can ask for.

I should start calling my blog the 2:30am blog cause that seems to be the time I start writing these things. Haha. I love this more than facebook. Cool, well I hope somebody is reading this. I'm going to try and add more stuff to make this at least worthwhile. I apologize now because I'm still getting acquainted with blogging. It's fun. I'll keep it up if I can. Alright, peace folks. Oh and I'll add this to the end of each post.

Jon's day was inspired by music from:

The New Pornographers - "The Bleeding Heart Show"
Modest Mouse - "Talking Shit About A Pretty Sunset"
The Clash - "Lost in the Supermarket"

there's a first time for everything

This is an exciting feeling. Making a blog for the first time. I'm not sure anyone will be inclined to reading the sort of drivel that I think I'm prone to writing. It's a fun experience none-the-less writing this as the only outlet I have is Facebook. I thought I'd post my musings on my life thus far and chronicle my post-college days.

Oh I forgot to tell you. I'm a college graduate now. I just finished this past Friday and graduated officially on Saturday and it feels so frickin' good! I can't believe I made it through all my classes in one piece. It was an amazing time and I'm going to miss it immensely but I'm trying not to dwell on it too much. I'm starting a new non-school chapter in my life, considering I'm finally done with school after 16 long and arduous years. That's crazy to think about.

So, moving on. I'm up late. I played a game of online Settlers of Catan a few hours ago and I won, which I rarely ever do. I watched a bootlegged version of the new Dark Knight trailer. (The absolute newest today trailer with more awesome Joker action) I'm such a fanboy sometimes. And that brings you up to date with my goings-ons. I'm tired. So tired. I'm gonna try to update my page with pics of art and things I've been tinkering with, maybe even some experimental films I'm working on. Who knows? Oh wait, I do. Well I'd better not bore the crap out of you, or whoever decides to read this. Have fun children. Good night and good morrow. Lame.
